Her story begins with her childhood in New York at the time of the Great Depression (1930–1940), and continues with her life in Washington after World War Two and her activities in the Washington branch of the Slovenian Women Union of America, which was founded in 1926 and which is still active.

The interview was recorded at her home in Washington, D.C., in 2002.
